The treasurer submits books, vouchers and statements to the select board and to the town auditors whenever requested.

The Deputy Treasurer shall perform the duties of the treasurer when the treasurer is absent due to sickness, resignation or otherwise. (RSA 41:29-a).Responsibilities of a Deputy School Treasurer in

Handles and accounts for all School District money: The deputy treasurer is responsible for managing and accounting for all financial transactions within the school district, including receiving, disbursing, and accounting for all funds.

Understands accounting principles: They must be familiar with the specific accounting requirements for school districts, including government accounting and budget-related procedures.

Maintains detailed records: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions is crucial.

Collaborates with the

School Board:

The deputy treasurer may need to work with the school board to prepare budget reports, financial statements, and other financial documents.

Performs duties in the Treasurer’s absence: The primary function of the deputy is to step in and perform the duties of the treasurer when they are unavailable.

This is a stipend position with no benefits paid twice per year.
