This individual will play a critical role instrategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhanceour quality programming and build capacity. Responsibilities:
As the VP of Finance, you will be responsible forthe following: 1.
Financial Planning:
Develop robust financialmodels and analysis to support strategic initiatives, growthstrategies, and potential new business opportunities. 2.
Reporting:
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process; administerand review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress andchanges and produce high-quality financial reports. 3.
Analysis:
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actualresults with plans and forecasts. 4.
Budgets:
Develop and manageannual and multi-year budgets that are adequate for theorganization’s needs including preparation of periodic budgetforecasts. 5.
Forecasting:
Provide a financial forecast, identifytrends, and present financial metrics while overseeing theorganization’s financial performance against both the annual budgetand the company’s long-term strategy. 6.
Operations:
Develop andimplement effective operational strategies that align with theorganization’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
The idealcandidate will possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor’sdegree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required,MBA or related advanced degree preferred. 2. A minimum of 10 yearsof overall professional experience; ideally 6 years of broadfinancial and operations management experience. 3. Non-profitexperience with a thorough understanding of non-profit accounting,including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, andreporting. 4. The ability to strategize and produce usefulfinancial reports. 5. Experience in a senior financial managementrole, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the developmentand implementation of creative financial management strategies. 6.Significant experience in or knowledge of non-profit accounting,including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, andreporting. 7. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, andinterpersonal skills. 8. Excellent analytical and abstractreasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. 9. Experiencein a complex nonprofit that has multiple programs and fundingsources will be highly desirable. The VP of Finance will be aseasoned and mature leader with at least 5 years of broad financeexperience, ideally beginning in audit, followed by experiencegathering and evaluating financial information and makingactionable recommendations to senior leadership. They will ideallyhave experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control,and reporting) for a complex nonprofit with multiple fundingsources including government (federal and state) contracts.
