Founded in 1959, Kennie’s has served its communities for over 60 years, growing to multiple store locations while staying committed to integrity, quality, and exceptional local service. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is as comfortable in the details as they are in the big picture. While the title is CFO, this is a hands-on role that includes all core Controller responsibilities—from monthly closes to budgeting, reporting, and financial operations. What You’ll Do (CFO + Controller-Level Scope): Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Drive margin improvement through cost analysis, vendor negotiations, and pricing strategies in partnership with merchandising and operations Oversee financial reporting, general ledger accuracy, and internal controls Prepare board reports and ensure regulatory compliance Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis Support operational decisions with financial insights Train and develop accounting staff Serve as the system lead for the FMS accounting platform Partner with store leaders and department heads to strengthen collaboration Serve as a strategic advisor to the

CEO and Board of Directors What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, including Controller-level experience Retail or inventory-heavy industry background is a strong plus Must possess the ability to communicate financial insights to both financial and non-financial audiences, fostering an open-book management culture Experience with ERP/accounting systems (FMS experience a bonus) Strong Excel and data analysis skills A grounded, people-first leadership style
