Job Description

The CFO provides advisory services tailored to client needs such as budgeting, forecasting, and project analysis to support executive decision-making. Responsibilities also cover supervision of engagement teams, review of month-end closing activities, and assurance of accurate financial reporting. The role entails presenting a detailed financial snapshot to management, executives, and owners, facilitating the implementation of automated accounting systems, and ensuring prompt responses to client inquiries. The CFO provides management and support for team members to refine processes and service quality, are also key aspects. The overarching aim is to align financial operations with client business goals, offering essential analysis and reporting to aid in achieving those goals. Responsibilities Oversee comprehensive accounting operations for a diverse portfolio, including but not limited to revenue and expense recognition, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting Conduct month-end close reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements, and provide timely financial information to clients Implement process enhancements and technological innovations to streamline accounting operations, increase precision, standardize practices, and deliver advanced solutions to client needs Foster strong client relationships ensuring satisfaction through proactive communication and by addressing inquiries promptly Perform detailed financial analysis of monthly statements, identifying trends, variances, and providing actionable insights for business decisions Provide leadership and mentoring to develop others by promoting collaboration, productivity, and professional growth Offer specialized advisory services including cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic business planning Prepare and facilitate strategic client meetings to discuss financial results, offer CFO-level insights, and engage in business planning Actively pursue professional growth and industry engagement through continuous learning, networking, and effective communication to enhance the firm’s development and reputation Lead financial review meetings to interpret results, provide strategic advice, and identify areas for client improvement Establish and maintain standardized accounting procedures, and develop a deep understanding of client industries and financial management needs Create and manage engagement budgets, monitor project progress, and supervise staff to achieve project objectives efficiently Champion change management to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and a strong customer focus Any other duty as needed to drive to the vison, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of RKL Virtual Management Solutions People Management and Relationships Cultivate and strengthen client relationships by understanding their business goals, ensuring responsive communication, and consistently meeting or exceeding their service expectations Lead client meetings with strategic focus, addressing critical financial matters, reviewing progress, and collaboratively setting goals to drive future success Proactively seek and value client feedback to enhance service delivery and reinforce a trusting, respectful partnership Promote a cooperative team atmosphere by offering support to colleagues, sharing knowledge, and aligning efforts to achieve collective objectives Demonstrate respect and build trust with both team members and clients through transparent communication, reliability, and a commitment to ethical conduct Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, actively pursuing professional growth and being receptive to new ideas and constructive feedback Take initiative to be a team player (seeks out opportunities to help others) Treat everyone with respect Develop loyalty and trust with team Successfully adapts to different personalities and working styles Proactively and effectively communicates information regarding status issues to team members Hold self accountable for assigned work; seeks continuous feedback to learn and develop in role; is open to new ideas and suggestions Business Growth Demonstrate an understanding of RKL’s business model, service lines, and competitive landscape Leverage knowledge of client service capabilities to contribute to the firm’s growth and client satisfaction Stay informed on technological advancements and their potential impact on the firm’s success and service delivery Qualification To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Ability Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to effectively interface with all levels of firm management and staff; ability to communicate issues and conclusions Problem solving skills; ability to shift focus and adapt to changes Strong US GAAP technical accounting knowledge with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in the application of accounting standards Strong critical thinking abilities with an analytical and project management mindset Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast paced environment Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple project Education, Experience and Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; Master’s degree preferred 10+ years’ progressive accounting experience required Proven project management skills and team development experience Active CPA license preferred Essential Functions Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed Ability to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be required This job description is subject to change at any time and employee will be given additional responsibilities as assigned

Salary Range:
