This position supports the podiatry and chiropractic segment of our medical professional liability line of business. Preference is for this position to be hybrid, but we may consider a remote work arrangement for candidates not located within a reasonable commuting distance of the specified office locations. The primary responsibility of the Claims Services Specialist I (CSS) is to provide excellent customer service and administrative assistance to the department while taking on more complex responsibilities and being a resource for their colleagues. By operating independently, demonstrating consistent performance, and building knowledge, the CSS role is able to identify areas of opportunity for the team and recommend solutions. What you’ll do: 45% –

Administrative Support:

Provide telephonic and electronic communication support to internal and external customers. Provide administrative support to the Claims Department for processing claims information and data. Provide restricted backup coverage for Claims Intake when needed. Provide support as needed for Claim Reporters and Associate CSS peers. Work with fellow Claims Services Specialists and Manager on complex tasks and projects. 35% –

Workflow Management:

Process tasks from all process workflows to ensure timely completion of assigned activities. Tasks may include but are not limited to adding and maintaining file participants, sending assignment letters, facilitating collection of medical records, entering Expense and Indemnity transactions, and file closings. Reconcile monthly data integrity reports. 20% –

Vendor Coordination:

Maintain contact with insureds, defense attorneys, and consultants. Work with outside vendors regarding billing and medical records. Coordinate with Finance concerning routine invoicing and indemnity payment requests. What we’re looking for: Associate degree and minimum of five years administrative or customer service experience, preferably in a medical or legal office; or high school and minimum seven years’ experience in an administrative or customer service capacity. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple complex tasks independently. Aptitude for developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and peers. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to organize and multi-task. Detail oriented, with ability and willingness to meet required turn-around times while still maintaining a solid focus on quality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows knowledge required. Capacity to think critically and analyze needs. Ability to maintain composure under demanding and stressful conditions.
