The claims staff are empowered to manage their claims within given authority to provide fair and fast resolution of claims for our insured and broker partners. The AVP, Team Manager – Cyber/Tech/Media/Crime is a first line manager responsible for leading a team of claim professionals who are handling claims, including matters in litigation, involving Cyber, Technology PL, Media and Crime. This individual will be assisting in the delivery of team objectives by developing, managing, and motivating engaged, high-performing claims professionals. This person combines excellent technical claims handling including complex coverage analysis, people management, and leadership skills. AVP’s provide managerial support, guidance and mentorship to their assigned team.

Drives employee engagement and individual development, and is responsible for their team’s performance and growth Drives Key Performance Indicators and adherence to Hiscox USA Best Practices through managerial diary and file audits Reviews and opines on coverage analyses drafted by team, including denials Drives litigation management behaviors within assigned team Identifies and provides solutions for key issues and trends to senior claims management Allocates new incoming claims, reopened claims, and claims that may need to transfer due to severity Acts as the escalation point for customers and brokers Prepares for and participates in Roundtable presentations Assists VP or Director in preparing and presenting reserve analysis and claims trends Takes an active role in the Claims/UW/Actuarial feedback loop Plays an active role in recruitment and on-boarding Provides feedback to their team, including participating fully in the performance management process Person specification: 10+ years of claims handling experience. A JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement to claims handling experience 5+ years of experience handling Cyber, Tech E&O and Media. Cyber and Tech E&O are a must. 4+ years of Claims management experience, preferably in multi-jurisdictions Leadership and people management skills Expert knowledge of claims handling practices to include: coverage analysis, litigation management and negotiation Excellent analytical, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills Strong rapport-building and relationship effectiveness skills

Salary Overview $175,000 – $200,000 Compensation Overview The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
