The Insurance Claims Specialist is responsible for managing, processing, and resolving insurance claims related to construction projects, including property damage, liability, and injury claims. This role involves evaluating damages and injuries, preparing detailed documentation, coordinating with insurers, contractors, and attorneys, and ensuring timely and accurate claims resolution to protect the company’s financial interests. The Insurance Claims Specialist also collaborates closely with site safety teams to promote OSHA compliance and proactive risk management.

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Pay:

Depending on experience The responsibilities of the Insurance Claims Specialist are: Investigate and process insurance claims related to construction incidents, including property damage, liability, injuries (workers’ compensation and third-party), and project delays. Review construction contracts and insurance policies to ensure adequate coverage for all projects, including injury claims. Assess injury reports, site inspections, and gather necessary documentation (e.g., medical reports, witness statements, incident reports). Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to gather supporting evidence and understand the scope of claims. Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings related to injury and non-injury claims. Collaborate closely with legal counsel and external attorneys to prepare for hearings, settlements, and negotiations, especially on injury-related claims. Work closely with insurance carriers to negotiate settlements, ensuring maximum reimbursement for covered losses, including medical and injury-related costs. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims, correspondence, and documentation. Monitor claim progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management and project teams. Develop and implement claims management policies and best practices specific to construction operations, with a focus on injury prevention and management. Collaborate with construction site safety teams to ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and promote a culture of safety and compliance. Support site safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and reduce the likelihood of claims. Provide guidance and training to project teams on injury reporting procedures, workers’ compensation requirements, OSHA compliance, and insurance protocols. Assist in loss prevention and risk management initiatives to reduce future injury and other claims exposure. The requirements of the Insurance Claims Specialist are: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, risk management, business administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in insurance claims handling, with a strong emphasis on injury and workers’ compensation claims within the construction industry. Experience handling large or complex construction injury claims. Experience attending hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings related to injury and non-injury claims. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, medical providers, project managers, safety personnel, and external stakeholders. Knowledge of construction insurance policies, including general liability, builders’ risk, workers’ compensation, and third-party injury claims. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and construction site safety best practices. Experience participating in OSHA compliance initiatives, site safety inspections, and construction safety programs. Familiarity with construction contracts and risk management principles, especially injury prevention practices. INDCON
