Responsibilities are focused on maintaining the day to day tasks and responsibilities of the risk management department. The risk administrator must be able to contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely and accurate manner.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage Workers’ Compensation claims Evaluate and investigate claims within prescribed guidelines to determine the nature, extent, and scope of an injury Communicate effectively with claimants, TPA, healthcare providers, and legal counsel to gather necessary information for claim resolution Provide guidance to negotiate settlements and manage litigation files as necessary Maintain accurate records and document claim activities in a timely and comprehensive manner Stay current on state-specific workers’ compensation regulations and changes Provide guidance on risk management and claim prevention techniques Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required Manage General Liability, Property & Auto Claims Gather all appropriate information and provide to insurance carrier and/or TPA (if needed) Call in and set up claims with carrier and/or TPA (if needed) Correspond with adjusters, account executives with Cecil W. Powell & Co., insurance companies, etc. regarding claims Properly document and update recordkeeping via spreadsheets, email, web based reporting, etc. Substance Abuse Testing Correspond with field personnel, supervisors, managers & officers concerning the need to test employee and/or the test results Properly document and update recordkeeping via spreadsheets, email, web based reporting, etc. Correspond with testing laboratories and/or MRO concerning tests and test results

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred 1 year of experience in claims adjusting, litigation, insurance, risk management or other similar related experience preferred Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with diverse individuals and to consistently handle interpersonal situations in a professional and respectful manner. Excellent organizational ability to prioritize, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and to meet deadlines. Detail oriented and the ability to provide accurate documentation.
