We’re seeking a highly motivated and strategic Claims Manager with proven experience in employer liability and subrogation. This individual will lead a team of claims professionals, driving performance and delivering results through effective claims handling, collaboration, and innovation. While prior workers’ compensation experience is a plus, we are primarily looking for a leader with strong liability expertise, investigative skills, and claims resolution experience. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end management of employer liability claims, including complex and litigated files.
Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities to maximize recoveries.
Develop and mentor a team of adjusters or analysts, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
Evaluate claims exposure, direct investigations, and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as a strategic thought partner in claim resolution planning and risk mitigation.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, best practices, and company standards.
Participate in audits, training, and process improvement initiatives to elevate team performance.
The person hired for this position will work out of the Lakeland, FL office which offers a hybrid work environment of 3 days in the office and 2 days’ work from home. #

LI-Hybrid Job Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Generally, a minimum of 9 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling, including a minimum of 4 years leadership experience. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

Scope of Job/Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in employer liability and/or casualty claims, including experience with subrogation.
4 years of team leadership or managerial experience required.
Strong understanding of legal concepts surrounding employer liability claims.
Demonstrated success in leading teams and improving operational efficiency.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Workers’ compensation claims knowledge is a plus but not required.
Industry certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU, ARM) preferred but not mandatory.
