This role involves managing commercial liability insurance claims with a strong focus on construction defect and bodily injury claims. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in commercial liability and demonstrate the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Experience with construction defect claims is preferred.

Description:

Investigate and manage commercial general liability claims, particularly construction defect and bodily injury claims. Interprets policy coverage and determine if and how coverage applies to submitted claims; Set reserves and authorizes payment within scope of authority, effectively resolving claims in a cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements; Coordinates and manages fact investigations and evaluates claims and lawsuits through contact with insureds, claimants, witnesses and vendors; Utilizes negotiating skills to resolve claims; Works with attorneys, account representatives, agents and insureds regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims; Analyzes claim activity and provides data for management reports; and, Keeps current on state/territory regulations as well as industry activity and trends.

Skills:

Minimum three years experience handling complex construction defect and some commercial general liability claims; Experience handling homeowner’s liability claims is also preferred; Currently possess or willing to obtain adjuster’s licenses for various states; Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Strong negotiation skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and; Ability to exercise judgment and make critical business decisions effectively.
