Baysfield Claims Managers, LLC is a leader in the transportation industry, committed to safety, reliability, and exceptional service. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Claims Adjuster to join our Risk Management team and help us manage and resolve trucking-related insurance claims efficiently and professionally.
Position Summary:
The Claims Adjuster will be responsible for handling and managing claims related to accidents, property damage, cargo loss, and liability involving commercial trucks. This role requires strong investigative, analytical, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of insurance procedures, FMCSA regulations, and the trucking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and evaluate trucking-related claims, including auto liability, cargo, physical damage, and general liability. Collect and analyze documentation, including accident reports, photos, police reports, driver statements, and repair estimates. Coordinate with internal teams, drivers, insurance companies, legal counsel, and third-party adjusters. Negotiate settlements and authorize payments in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines. Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim files and documentation. Monitor open claims and ensure timely resolution while minimizing financial exposure. Provide reports and recommendations to leadership based on claims data and trends. Assist with subrogation, litigation support, and compliance tracking as needed.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in insurance claims adjusting, preferably in the trucking or transportation industry. Working knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations and commercial auto insurance. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficient in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Adjuster’s license. Why Join Us?
