Medical Claims Specialist Mid-Missouri Anesthesia Consultants Jefferson City, MO 65109 Job Summary We are seeking a Medical Claims Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing claims efficiently and accurately. We prefer an individual that is familiar with insurance claims processing, but it is not necessary. We are willing to train. Duties Enter, review and analyze claims for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory standards. Utilize medical coding systems to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Submit claims to insurance companies. Process remittance advices from insurance companies. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims. Maintain organized records of all claims processed in software system. Adhere to confidentiality and compliance of HIPAA regulations. Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding practices, and billing procedures to ensure compliance. Address inquiries from patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding claim and payment status. Qualifications Experience in insurance billing, or claims related field is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems is preferred. Experience working in a medical office is advantageous. Prefer individuals with excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Experience using medical billing systems and other relevant software applications. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
