On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for an Insurance Specialist for a contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Chapel Hill office. Insurance Specialist

• Job Description:

  The Insurance Specialist will manage all aspects of billing and reimbursement for dental and medical insurance services. This role involves collaborating with insurance carriers and requires strong knowledge of industry standards, coding, and insurance contracts. Insurance Specialist

• Responsibilities:

• File dental insurance claims and pre-treatment estimates for privately insured patients
• Obtain and submit required clinical documentation for claims processing
• Investigate denied claims, follow up, and submit appeals as needed
• Verify documentation including insurance cards and explanations of payment
• Audit patient records for billing, coding, and documentation accuracy
• Communicate regularly with insurance companies and use insurance portals effectively
• Apply knowledge of procedural and diagnostic coding, including cross-coding
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and related privacy standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
  Insurance Specialist

• Mandatory Skills:

• Specialized knowledge of dental and medical insurance billing and reimbursement standards
• Familiarity with accounts receivable processes
• Understanding of dental and medical terminology
• Experience with dental procedural and diagnostic coding
• Proficiency with electronic claims processing and insurance portals
• Effective communication and deductive reasoning skills
• Ability to work onsite

• Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in a major academic healthcare setting
• Familiarity with managed care organizations
• Previous experience in a dental or medical office
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance practices
