Position Overview:
The primary purposed of the Claims Specialist is to manage claims made related to Workers’ Compensation and possibly Auto, General Liability and Property damage. This Specialist position requires a good working knowledge of Workers Compensation along with other casualty coverages so to effectively and appropriately manage such exposures across the organization. Essential Functions Acts as initial point of contact to receive and process claims. Handles routine claim status inquiries from any partners in a courteous and timely manner. Supports organization and maintenance of internal database. Handles multiple functions related to business operations, claims processing, and office workflows. Recognizes and resolves basic, routine, or common/repetitive problems requiring service and support skills; however, seeks assistance on complex issues and refers, non-prescribed matters. Gathers initial incident information such as incident report forms, video, evidence, statements, and details for use in the claims-handling process. Identifies indemnification in appropriate claims and assisting with the preparation of tender letters and correspondence. Understand privacy laws and work with confidential personal information. Drafts correspondence and run reports. File claims with and work closely with carriers on resolution and closure of claims. Requires a good understanding of disability and litigation management and Return to Work programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
