Job Description:

ESIS ProClaim is seeking an experienced Claims Specialist. Inthis role you will manage general liability claims and other lines.

Key Objective Under the direction of the AVP and VP of Claims andClaims Team Leader you will review coverage, investigates facts ofthird-party claims, secure evidence, assesses, addressessubro/recovery/tenders, and apportions liability and settles claimsat the best outcome within established claim best practicesguidelines and client instructions. Duties include but are notlimited to: Determine coverage, conducts a thorough investigationand may determine the extent of the policy’s obligation to theinsured depending on the line of business. Maintain diary system toensure each file is reviewed at a minimum of every 90 days.

Effectively work with defense counsel and litigation workingcollaboratively, as directed by the client. Ensure detailed 90-dayClaim Summary Reports are prepared and provide updates to theclient on investigation, potential settlement opportunities, claimdenials, reservation of rights, third party tenders andrecommendations to present at claims review meetings. Posts lossand expense reserves in Claims system within authority limits andrecommends reserve changes above authority to AVP and/or VP ofClaims. Reviews progress and status of claims with claimsleadership and discusses issues/opportunities/task and remedialactions. Prepares and submits to claims leadership all unusual orpotentially undesirable exposures such as allegations of bad faithor unfair claim practice allegations. Assists Claims Leadership informulating improvements in claims handling procedures. Assist andworks with Partnership Leaders on delivering results, attendmeetings and claim reviews. Reviews and confirms claimsprofessionals have secured the appropriate releases, proofs of lossor compensation agreements and issues company drafts in paymentsfor claims. Maintains claims with the appropriate file notes,reports, photos, and documentation within the claim. Follows allcompany and regulatory compliance requirements. Updates claimtimely with Medicare data and addresses Medicare reporting ∫erest. Meets or exceeds performance goals. 10 or more years ofexperience as a claim professional and/or claims management with ahigh degree of specialized and technical competence in the handlingof professional and general liability claims with emphasis onhands-on file and litigation management. P&C insurance adjusterlicense where required. Knowledge of insurance industry and claimshandling concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong background anddemonstrated ability in dealing with significant coverage matters.

An understanding of insurance and legal principles. Knowledge ofP&C Group coverage and services. Working knowledge of industrybest practices and procedures. An ability to work independently.

Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills andan ability to deal with customers and business partners in aprofessional manner. Ability to make prompt, reasoned decisionsbased upon detailed analysis of complex issues. Bachelor’s Degreeor higher. The pay range for the role is $65,900 to $122,100. Thespecific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and otherfactors. This role may also be eligible to participate in adiscretionary annual incentive program.
