Job Description
The Chenango County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening fora Social Welfare Examiner. Duties involve working directly with applicants andclients to determine their eligibility for various social service programs.
Qualifications:
Candidates must havecompleted at least 60 credit hours inany field of study; OR have a HSdiploma or GED and two years of fulltime paid experience or its’ part timeequivalent in examining, investigating, orevaluating claims for assistance,veterans, or unemployment benefits,insurance, or a similar program.
This title has been approved withoutthe need to take an examinationthrough the HELP Program of the NYSDepartment of Civil Service.
Candidates appointed permanently tothis title will NOT need to take anexam and will remain in their positioneven when the HELP Program ends.
Positions start at $21.25 (2024) per hour and include a full benefit package.
