Everest Reinsurance, a member of Everest, has an opportunity for an experienced claims professional or attorney to join our best-in-class Reinsurance Claim team. This individual will manage a pending of assumed reinsurance claims including multiple lines of business and geographies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Confirming coverage under the relevant policy and reinsurance contractInvestigating, analyzing and evaluating liability and damages.
Preparing case summary reports related to matters of significant reserve and trial activity.
Ensuring prompt payment of claims and the timely setting of appropriate case reserves.
Plan and execute claim reviews of ceding company files, processes and procedures.
Working with underwriters in supporting reinsurance contract wording, reporting claim trends, data analysis, and risk assessments.
Extensive communication with ceding companies, brokers, actuaries, and underwriters.
Attending client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business.
The well qualified candidate will have:
Six to ten years of commercial lines claim adjusting experience and/or reinsurance claims experience.
Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims process and legal and regulatory environment.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to think strategically.
Ability to identify and use relevant data and metrics to best manage claims.
Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency.
Ability and willingness to present to senior management and to others in other group settings.
Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims process and legal and regulatory environment.
Some knowledge of reinsurance preferred but not required, training provided.
Interest in data and analytics a plus.
B.A. or B.S. preferred but not required.
For New York and New Jersey only: The base salary range for this position is $120,000 – $190,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
