Job Description
The General, a subsidiary of Sentry Insurance, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Specialty Red Flag Claims Adjuster to investigate and manage property and casualty insurance claims alongside our Special Investigations Unit (SIU). This role involves investigating multiple aspects of coverage with our Special Investigations team (SIU), liability, gathering and reviewing information, assessing coverage, coordinating appraisals, and negotiation claim settlements efficiently and fairly. T his role will be filled following our hybrid work model at our Nashville, TN; Davenport, IA; Madison, WI; Stevens Point, WI; or El Paso, TX office What You’ll Do As a Specialty Red Flag Claims Adjuster, you will: Work alongside our SIU team and investigate potential fraud claims as well as claims involving coverage issues. Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc. Identifies complex issues and determines coverage. Handles claims on a good faith basis. Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements. Coordinates on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages, and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters. Interprets and determines policies, declarations, articles and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses. Responds to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions and closes file as needed. What it Takes Ability to obtain and maintain state specific property and casualty claims licensing as required Solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge. Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or other equivalent knowledge. Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.
