Job Description

Director Of Environmental Compliance EcoSouth Axis, AL A Director of Environmental Compliance oversees an organization’s compliance with environmental laws and regulations, ensuring they meet all legal requirements and minimize environmental impact. This involves developing and implementing compliance programs, monitoring regulations, conducting audits, and reporting to regulatory agencies. This position works closely with the Vice President of Post Collections and Landfill Manager in Axis AL.

Compensation:

$125,000 – $140,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Help landfill managers with state and local regulations. Help with setting up an internal program for tracking daily, monthly, and annual compliance and environmental tasks, as well as a library with all our permits and correspondence with State and local regulators. Monitor tank levels in our onsite leachate storage tanks and manage the 3rd party transportation vendors hauling to our disposal outlets. Work with our 3rd party engineering companies that do our groundwater and gas sampling, making sure submittals are to the states and local regulators on time. Maintaining the special waste manifests process, submittals to the state, and maintaining our internal Manifest Library. Performs ongoing public relations and due diligence activities through communication with the corporate office, regulatory agency representatives, third-party consultants, and investors. Attends regulatory and association-sponsored informational and policy meetings. Ensures continued compliance by coordinating air, water monitoring, environmental data review, and reporting. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong written and oral communication skills. Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization and with external customers, vendors, and government agency representatives. Strong project management skills. Strong analytical skills and a focus on adding value to the Company. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations relating to air, water, solid waste, and material recovery/recycling. 5 years of experience in landfill engineering or environmental compliance in air, water, and solid waste.
