Full Job Description Compliance Supervisor Division of Regulatory Services Job Summary:

This is a supervisory position that leads and manages the compliance teams.

Job duties include:

This is a supervisory position that leads and manages the compliance teams in the Palm Bay and Apopka Service Centers. The compliance supervisor will review and sign-off on technical documents; meet and communicate with staff regularly to ensure consistency; provide technical support to the team; monitor, manage, and balance the compliance/enforcement workload; facilitate the resolution of elevated projects; keep leadership informed on projects of heightened concern; and participate in and support the Division’s performance goals and mission. Reviews permit files, plans, legal documents, aerials, and other records for compliance determinations; completes permit determinations; responds to complaints and public information requests; prepares and reviews reports and correspondence; monitors documentation of compliance actions in E-Reg; conducts training; meets with local governments, consultants, developers, homeowner associations and citizens on permit compliance/enforcement issues; processes permit transfers and time extensions. Initiates enforcement actions including preparing and reviewing enforcement packages; prepares draft Consent Orders and recommended settlement penalties; tracks & monitors deadlines/action items in Consent Orders; negotiates settlements; coordinates with the Office of General Counsel; regularly briefs DRS leadership on enforcement matters.

Skilled In:

Collaborative problem solving; project management; workload management; assisting staff in meeting SMART Objectives; the ability to read maps, aerials, and plans; use of ArcMap, the use of basic computer software; writing technical reports and letters; and effectively communicating with others within formal and informal settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental engineering, an environmental science or a related field and six years of professional experience in the environmental or water resources field, one of which includes leading a project team, coordinating activities of a work group, or serving as a team lead.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products with some field visits as required. Field visits would require enduring outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.

License:

Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

Starting Salary Range:

$75,753.60 – $98,467.20 Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
