Your ImpactThe Lowe’s Legal Department serves as an innovative,proactive and strategic business partner focused on acceleratingprofitable growth while protecting the Lowe’s brand The SeniorCounsel provides legal consultation on complexmatters,enterprise-wide initiatives and/or matters significant to thecompany. This role is seen as a subject matter expert in at leastone of area of law or have mid-level understanding of 3 or moreareas of law or lines of business. The Senior Counsel handlesmatters independently and proactively consults with leadership oncomplex work.

Lowe’s is seeking a highly experienced SeniorCorporate Counsel to lead our privacy, compliance, and AIgovernance efforts reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer and LeadProduct Counsel. This role will focus on building a comprehensiveprivacy program and overseeing privacy operations to ensureregulatory compliance across our products and services. The idealcandidate will possess a deep understanding of privacy laws, datagovernance, and the implications of AI technologies.

What you willdo

Privacy Program Development:

Lead the design and implementationof a robust privacy program that aligns with business objectivesand regulatory requirements, ensuring effective risk management andoperational excellence.

Compliance Oversight:

Monitor and ensurecompliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, includingGDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks. Develop policies andprocedures to maintain compliance.

AI Governance:

Provide legalguidance on the ethical and compliant use of AI technologies,advising on risk assessments, data usage, and regulatoryconsiderations.

Product Counsel Participation:

Collaborate withcross-functional teams, including product development, engineering,and data science, to integrate privacy-by-design principles intothe product lifecycle.

Privacy Operations Management:

Overseeday-to-day privacy operations, including data subject requests,privacy impact assessments, and incident response planning.

Trainingand Awareness:

Develop and deliver training programs on privacycompliance and best practices to foster a culture of privacy withinthe organization.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Serve as a key point ofcontact for privacy-related inquiries, working closely withinternal stakeholders, senior management, and externalpartners.

Regulatory Liaison:

Engage with regulatory bodies andindustry groups to stay abreast of changes in privacy laws andemerging trends, representing the company’s interests.

Manages legalmatters independently and proactively informs and seeks input fromlegal leadership team on complex work and enterprise- wideinitiatives.

Influences officers and builds alignment on keyenterprise-wide strategic priorities by providing innovative andpractical business-oriented solutions on complex issues.

Manages andprovides direction regarding trends in various litigationcategories and guidance to senior business leaders regarding risksand likely outcomes for all assigned litigation and pre-litigationmatters.

Proactively identifies legal risks by assessing internaland external trends, including the regulatory environment andpartners with Lowe’s leaderships team to develop solutions on keyenterprise initiatives that will ultimately drive business resultsyet mitigate risk.

Collaborates and leads the team by identifyingrisks and influencing decisions on complex projects impacting theenterprise.

Serves as a trusted business partner and is the keypoint of contact for officer level stakeholders on keyenterprise-wide initiatives and matters of significance toLowe’s.

Assigns, oversees, and actively manages the work of outsidecounsel.

Partners with the business to develop solutions to drivecompliance with the industry’s concepts, practices, andprocedures.

Oversees the work of the legal team to prepare training,deliver memorandum, and presentations on legal matters.

Recruits,selects, and develops talent. Ensures talent is prepared for growthopportunities and advancement.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years ofexperience in privacy law, compliance, and governance, preferablyin a corporate or technology setting, with specific experience inAI governance.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school andadmission to the bar in [state].5+ years’ experience handlinggeneral liability or personal injury claims or equivalent5+ yearsLeadership experience with direct report responsibility or a leaderof teams1+ years’ experience working closely with seniorleadershipLicensed attorney in good standing in any state in theU.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of global privacyregulations and frameworks, along with a proven track record ofbuilding privacy programs.

Strong analytical, strategic thinking,and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborateeffectively across teams.

Experience managing complex projects andnavigating organizational dynamics.
