Full Job Description Position Summary:

Hearten is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Day Program Compliance and Operations to lead our day habilitation program in Hamilton, NJ . This individual will oversee program operations, staff supervision, outreach, and ensure full compliance with New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) standards. Proficiency in Therap is essential for managing service documentation and maintaining data integrity. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for person-centered care, compliance, and community connection.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Oversight & Leadership Lead day-to-day operations of Hearten’s day habilitation program. Design and implement age-appropriate, meaningful, and goal-oriented programming. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for individuals and staff. DDD Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure strict adherence to all DDD regulations, policies, and procedures. Oversee accurate documentation of daily ISP notes, incident reports, fire/shelter-in-place drills, and vehicle checks. Conduct monthly audits and compliance checks to maintain high-quality standards. Therap Systems Management Manage and monitor all relevant Therap modules (ISP Programs, T-Logs, GERs, Attendance, etc.). Provide training and oversight to ensure staff document consistently and accurately in Therap. Use system reports to track service delivery and identify trends or gaps. Staff Supervision & Development Supervise and evaluate direct support and program staff. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance feedback. Lead monthly staff trainings focused on compliance, safety, and professional development. Documentation & Record Management Ensure all documentation is timely, complete, and securely saved on Hearten’s shared drive. Maintain accurate records for internal use and external audits. Coordination & Communication Serve as a liaison with families, support coordinators, and partner agencies. Coordinate with clinical, nursing, and transportation staff to support individualized care. Outreach & Community Engagement Represent Hearten at community events, provider fairs, and outreach meetings. Build and maintain relationships with support coordination agencies, referral sources, and local stakeholders. Develop strategies to increase program visibility and enroll eligible individuals. Collaborate on marketing and promotional materials related to program services. Budget & Resource Management Monitor purchasing and spending within approved budget. Ensure program materials, equipment, and supplies are available, safe, and appropriate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a DDD-regulated day program. In-depth understanding of DDD regulations and compliance in New Jersey. Proficiency in Therap software (minimum 1 year hands-on experience). Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Experience with outreach, referral development, or public relations a plus. Valid NJ driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
