  • We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager, Digital Data Governance & Compliance to lead the enterprise-wide approach to electronic data governance.

This individual will oversee data mapping initiatives, manage compliance and risk associated with digital data, and own the litigation hold and internal data collection processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in data governance frameworks, cross-functional collaboration, and managing complex regulatory requirements in a digital environment.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Data Governance Leadership
  • + Develop and lead enterprise-wide digital data governance strategies, standards, and policies. + Establish and enforce data lifecycle management processes for unstructured and structured digital content.
  • Data Mapping & Discovery
  • + Oversee digital data mapping and inventory efforts to support business intelligence, legal discovery, and compliance. + Partner with IT, legal, privacy, and business units to identify, classify, and document digital data assets across systems and platforms.
  • Litigation Hold & Internal Data Collections
  • + Lead the litigation hold process, including issuance, tracking, custodial interviews, and release. + Manage defensible internal data collection practices in collaboration with Legal, HR, and IT stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • + Ensure digital data governance practices align with regulatory, legal, and privacy requirements (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA). + Work with the Office of the General Counsel to support internal and external audits and investigations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Program Oversight
  • + Serve as the primary liaison for data governance and discovery readiness. + Develop training and communication plans to promote a culture of compliance and data responsibility.
  • Technology Strategy & Tools
  • + Evaluate and implement digital tools for data mapping, governance, and eDiscovery processes. + Recommend solutions that improve efficiency, defensibility, and transparency of digital data operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

(EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

AND ABILITIES

):

  • Education:
  • + Bachelor’s degree in information management, Legal Studies, Computer Science, or a related field (JD or Master’s preferred).
  • Experience:
  • + 10+ years of experience in digital data governance, compliance, or eDiscovery roles.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • + Demonstrated leadership in developing and operationalizing data governance programs, particularly in regulated and/or law firm environments.

+ Strong knowledge of data privacy laws, litigation hold processes, and internal investigation protocols. + Proven success in cross-functional program management. + Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365 Compliance Center, Relativity, Nuix, or similar platforms. + Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Change management and stakeholder engagement expertise. + High integrity and sound judgment with sensitive information.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

  • Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • The salary range for this position applies to New Jersey and Washington, D.

C. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $145,000 to $175,000.
