Job Summary Ensure Compliance of Import, Export for the various L’Oreal North America legal entities, products classification according to customs codes and by checking the specs of the goods imported, issue proper declarations of origin and preferential origin through analytical assessments. Manage Entries Reconciliations when applicable by calculating the values, the customs duties and tax impact and by planning relevant reconciliation submission. Perform analysis on imports and exports records to support the preparation of duty draw backs applications and to check free trade agreements eligibility. Ensure compliant and timely customs clearance by providing brokers with requested data and by supporting the foreign trade zone operations. Home base for this position is hybrid with remote and Clark, NJ. Meetings can be held either in Clark or New york, NJ. Flexibility to work and/or attend meetings in either location is expected on regular monthly basis. as well as domestic travelling for training, meetings, and conferences attendance purposes.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Keep contacts with Customs Border and Protection and various Partner Governmental Agencies to ensure compliant trades and smooth imports and exports clearances Monitor Customs borders and protections new regulations related to sanctions, embargoes, retaliatory tariffs, change of customs tariffs, change of duties rate and tax rates. Calculate impact of value import changes and manage the relevant applicable change. Ensure timely and compliant transactions to CBP and other PGAs Conduct assessments of origin and preferential origin of goods.
Required Experience/Training:
BA/BS in Logistics, or Supply Chain, or Computer Engineering, Data analytics or Business-related field required. Customs Brokerage License constitutes a plus. 5+ year’ experience within trade compliance. Must have computer skills and advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI and other Microsoft programs. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills; business acumen; time management capability, oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Global Trade Management software experience:
One source/Cargotrans/Fastweb or similars is a plus
