Challenge Thumbtack is looking for an experienced TechnicalProgram Manager to build out and manage our company-wide DataPrivacy & Compliance program. We’re looking for the right personwho’s excited about the unique and high impact opportunity to buildsomething special. You will lead complex, highly technical,multi-disciplinary projects in a program that spans Engineering(data services, infrastructure, product, security), Legal, BusinessApplications, IT, Marketing, Trust & Safety, Data Science, Finance,HR, Sales, Service, and Partnerships. Your initiatives will bestrategic and operational, impacting our internal and externalusers
- from designing and deploying new data systems, toimplementing operational compliance processes and workflows, todeveloping employee training and awareness.
What youll do Partnerwith Privacy Counsel, business leaders, and tech partners todevelop a data privacy program strategy, drive semi-annual planningto identify objectives and key results that support that strategy,and collaborate with product, engineering, and others to prioritizeand resource dependent initiatives Collaborate with PrivacyCounsel, product, engineering, and business teams to developcomprehensive plans, manage complex cross-team dependencies, andimplement scalable tools, infrastructure, automation, and processesto both internal and external users Partner with Privacy Counseland stakeholders to establish company-wide awareness,participation, and adoption across all dimensions of data privacythrough things like privacy reviews, integration ofprivacy-by-design principles, and training Keep cross-functionalstakeholders, contributors, executives, and other interestedparties engaged, aligned, and up-to-date on relevant details;escalate issues when necessary Continually evaluate ways to improveor automate privacy processes in our product, platform, and toolsaround things such as: data subject requests, data mapping, datasharing, consent management, vendor/partner compliance, mobile appstore compliance, reporting, documentation, and audits Stayup-to-date on privacy requirements, best practices, tools, andemerging technologies Contribute to, and lead when necessary,related GRC (governance, risk, compliance) technical initiativesfor the company In order to be successful, you must bringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 5 years of relevantexperience in the field Proven experience running largecross-functional data privacy, governance, and/or complianceprograms including elements such as data mapping, DPIAs, vendormanagement, and consent management Proficient understanding of datasystems, software development and operations, and privacy risksExpert in U.S. state privacy laws including but not limited to
CCPA/CPRA, CPA, VCDPA, UCPA, BIPA
Excellent analytical andproblem-solving skills; able to make thoughtful proposals, provideroot cause analysis and demonstrate results through testing andmetrics Expert in agile project management, prioritizationmethodologies, and the software project lifecycle (design, build,test, release, feedback) Ability to both think strategically at theprogram level and be hands on in day-to-day action Expected salaryranges For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose,New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for therole is currently $182,800
- $236,500. For candidates living inAustin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts,New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for therole is currently $164,500
- $212,900. For candidates living in allother US locations, the expected salary range for this role iscurrently $155,400
- $201,100.
Actual offered salaries will varyand will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level,qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
