Compliance Supervisor Job Summary:
The Compliance Supervisor position is responsible for managing regulatory compliance functions for all lines of business, including state regulatory compliance, communications compliance, compliance auditing, market conduct exams, and policy language development. This position is also responsible for overseeing the Forms Management system.
Major Accountabilities:
Create and maintain monitoring tool to identify new legislation and regulatory changes. Ensure compliance with state and federal agencies by studying existing and new legislation. Facilitate cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes consistent with regulatory requirements as well as department’s policies and procedures. Develop, implement and maintain computer and filing systems for compliance materials. Manage compliance resources for drafting and reviewing policy language and associated policy holder notifications. Act as the key resource for all departments on compliance related matters. Supervise the filing and negotiation of approval of forms, endorsements and rates with state insurance departments. Investigate thoroughly and answer, in a timely fashion, insurance department complaints pertaining to underwriting. Build a network of compliance professionals and industry related groups. Provide supervision, coaching and counseling to assigned staff. Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
Education/Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.
Experience/Specialized Skills:
Minimum of seven years experience in insurance compliance and two years management experience required. Advanced knowledge of insurance policy terminology, federal and state insurance laws and regulations, legal research and interpretation required. Must possess advanced understanding of insurance concepts, principles, and practices along with strong technical writing and advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, e-mail).

Physical Requirements:
Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written/in-person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 lbs.) Heavy use of computer and office equipment.
Travel/Hours of Service:
Occasional travel required. Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
