Job Description

A Brief Overview The Compliance Manager ensures Regional One Health’s compliance program meets industry standards set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of Inspector General (OIG). The incumbent is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of system-wide program to ensure compliance with applicable federal billing programs, fraud and abuse laws and regulations, and organizational policies. Independently collaborating with leadership to coordinate and integrate the compliance program throughout the organization. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified by the rules, policies, procedures, and applicable laws, and standards of Regional One Health. What you will do Keeps Chief Compliance Officer informed on the status of activities and issues regularly and in the appropriate format. Ensures all work product documents are secured and kept confidential at all times. Independently completes Compliance Work Plan activities in a professional, efficient and timely manner. Identifies the scope and system resources necessary to secure a strong knowledge base for an effective outcome. Effectively communicates outcomes in clear and concise formal reports notifying business owners and leadership of assessments, regulatory impacts and appropriately follows up as needed. Identifies, recommends, and oversees research, development, implementation, and monitoring of special compliance projects targeted to enhance organizational compliance with standards, laws, rules, and regulations and minimize organizational risk. Conducts investigations of regulatory compliance matters and/or violations of compliance policies or code of conduct, documenting all interviews and meetings in confidential case files. Documents and tracks incidents appropriately providing updates and summarizing compliance activities and events in clear and concise written reports. Implements effective monitoring of appropriate compliance indicators to oversee high-risk areas, routinely reports areas of interest or concern to leadership. Identifies process improvements and areas of interest or potential risk effectively communicating points through clearly written correspondence or compliance memorandums. Designs, develops, and supports compliance-based training and education curriculum. Analyzes and interprets government regulations to acquire and maintain knowledge. Pursues continuing education opportunities to keep abreast of changing standards, laws, rules, regulations, best practices, and new developments in healthcare compliance as they relate to specific job duties. Actively participates in assignments identifying opportunities for improvement consistent with strategic goals and mission. Completes reports or other tasks required to comply with State and Federal regulations. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree In Business Administration, Health Administration, or regulatory related field Required Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or other recognized certification through the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) or Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) or attained within one (1) year of employment. within 1 Year Required Medical coding certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Preferred Minimum 5 years experience Related experience in healthcare compliance or privacy. Required Physical Demands Standing
