The Healthcare Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory standards and internal policies. This position requires a thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, including DHS regulations, FDA regulations, HIPAA compliance, and coding standards such as ICD-10 and ICD-9. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, pro-active, and committed to maintaining the highest levels of compliance within our operations. Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance standards, including DHS, CARF, and Medicaid requirements. Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory guidelines related to healthcare compliance and ensure timely updates to internal policies. Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters, including coding practices and documentation requirements. Collaborate with various departments to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies for mitigation. Prepare reports on compliance activities for management review, highlighting areas of concern and recommendations for improvement. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during audits or investigations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred. 2 years proven experience in compliance management within the healthcare sector. Specific experience in the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Treatment sector is preferred. In-depth knowledge of Arkansas Department of Health Standards, FDA regulations, HIPAA guidelines, Medicare policies, CARF standards, and coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9). Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively within the organization. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey compliance information clearly to diverse audiences. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
