We have a unique opportunity for a talented healthcare compliance executive to build and lead the Compliance Division within the fastest growing, multi-state, clinical laboratory in the nation. This role is crucial for ensuring the company adheres to all necessary regulatory and legal requirements across our operations. AHA’s Compliance Officer will be based near Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
THE ROLE
COMPLIANCE OFFICER (CO) CO will advise the Board of Directors and senior management of the Company on compliance matters and provide guidance around advancing company-wide ethics and compliance initiatives. CO will monitor and evaluate the company’s business operations for compliance matters and concerns, including compliance with various payor rules and federal and state regulatory systems. Lead initiatives and coordinate with senior management to develop and implement policies, ongoing education, and training for all company personnel to foster a company-wide culture of ethics and compliance, as established by the Board. Assist management in developing operational reports and processes to monitor and detect compliance issues and initiate corrective action. Establish processes with company management at all levels to identify areas of heightened risk and compliance vulnerability and recommend response plans to mitigate such risks. Coordinate with senior management to implement systems to monitor and ensure compliance with professional and facility licensure, certification, accreditation, and laws and regulations in various jurisdictions in which the company operates. Respond to and investigate issues presented to or which are self-generated by the Compliance Office regarding potential violations of company policies and procedures or applicable law. Coordinate responses to external inquiries and audits, working with company leadership and appropriate company personnel. Oversee and coordinate with other senior staff internal reviews and audits in various compliance aspects of the company’s business. Maintain knowledge of current compliance issues (e.g., DOJ compliance guidance and Corporate Integrity Agreements, OIG Compliance Guidance and Work Plans, State initiatives, Medicare/Medicaid initiatives, and other compliance-related issues). Regularly report to the Board of Directors, the President, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Compliance Committee on compliance status, reports filed and dispositions and matters of concern as they arise.

Applicants’ experience and training demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and third-party health plan operations, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, third-party payor contracting requirements, and audits and reviews, including
CMS/UPIC/RAC/MAC
Program Audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
BA or BS degree Certified by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) Seven (7) years of health care, regulatory, ethics, and compliance experience. Experience with an independent clinical laboratory or mobile diagnostics (IDTF) business with multi-state operations preferred.
