Position Overview We’re seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst who is eager to learn and grow. This role is ideal for college students or early-career professionals pursuing cybersecurity or IT. You’ll be trained to log into systems configured by our senior engineers and verify that security settings are in place and functioning as expected. This is an entry-level, part-time position with hands-on exposure to real systems, tools, and compliance processes. Initial onboarding and equipment setup will be conducted in person in Tampa, FL. After that, most tasks and remaining training can be performed remotely. Key Responsibilities Log Access & Review Access system, audit, and security event logs across multiple platforms Validate successful implementation of configurations and log retention policies Configuration & Permissions Audit Check system settings, user access levels, and group policies on servers and workstations Compare configurations to security baselines for compliance Privileged Access Monitoring Observe administrative account activity (read-only) Validate assignment and use of elevated roles Security Control Validation Assist in verifying access controls, encryption settings, and backup configurations Help prepare documentation and screenshots for CMMC or

evidence Support for Incident & Risk Review Assist in log review during suspected incidents Help document findings for internal reports General Documentation & Reporting Fill in audit checklists, compliance dashboards, and access reviews Participate in team discussions and provide observations
Qualifications Required:
Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts (e.g., access control, patching, logging) Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly Able to attend initial in-person onboarding at our Tampa office
Preferred:
Exposure to SIEM tools, Active Directory, or vulnerability scanners Coursework or certification (e.g., Security+) Understanding of NIST 800-171 or
