Requirements The Medical Compliance Specialist will create, implement, train, and manage compliance policies and procedures per federal and state laws and regulations for assigned clinics. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare compliance, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of ethical and legal conduct. Legal Research & Writing Actively assists in legal matters including but not limited to subpoenas, demand letters, and medical records requests Takes lead on all adverse incidents and/or unanticipated events Acts as a liaison between the legal department and attorneys to research, identify, and provide all information or document requests from attorneys relating to legal matters Works alongside the legal department Conducts research and interprets statutes/regulations that require compliance across assigned clinics Monitors changes in healthcare laws and regulations, guiding the organization to stay current Collaborates with cross-functional teams, and legal, to address compliance issues and develop solutions Risk & Compliance Conducts regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues Develops and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and strengthen the organization’s compliance posture Works alongside VP, Growth & Operations to create new policies and/or SOP’s Prepares for AAAASF inspections and accreditations of new and/or existing clinics Actively performs in AAAASF and state surveys as a company representative Organizes and keeps compliance manuals current for assigned clinics in alignment with state and AAAASF requirements to include but not limited to bibles, QA/QI, CEU Oversees platforms such as SurgLogs and Scripture Drives education and achievement of clinic department goals, objectives, and processes to include but not limited to training of tenured staff and new staff Coordinates and conducts regular training sessions on compliance for employees at all levels Collaborates with appropriate departments to ensure compliance is met at all times by established policies and procedures Analysis & Reporting Proactively escalates to the Director of Operations and/or VP, Growth & Operations any perceived obstacles, barriers, problems, or unusual circumstances for compliance measures and outcomes Prepares and submits timely reports on compliance activities, incidents, and corrective actions to senior management

Requirements:

Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree 2-5 years of Previous experience in healthcare, compliance or legal research is preferred Preferred experience with AHCA, JCAHO, JCO, AAAHC, QUADA, OBS, and/or ASC Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, and others Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds at times Travel Requirements Up to 50% required to travel between out-of-state clinics Mia Aesthetics is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
