The role you will contribute:
The Division Compliance Officer reports to and works in conjunction with the Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer at AdventHealth to provide leadership and oversight for the Compliance function within a designated Division of AdventHealth to establish a culture within the organization that promotes prevention, detection, and resolution of situations that are not in compliance with federal and state laws. This includes providing leadership to the Regional Compliance Officers within their assigned Division.

Provide leadership to the Regional Compliance Officers within the assigned Division, including providing compliance and regulatory guidance and ongoing development and support.
Provide training, mentoring, supervision and professional development for Regional Compliance Officers and others within their direct line of reporting responsibilities.
Provide strategic insight into compliance concerns to the leadership of assigned Division.
Work with the Regional Compliance Officers in assigned Division to proactively lead and develop strategic solutions for over-arching compliance and privacy matters.
Work with the Regional Compliance Officers in assigned Division to facilitate consistency and standardization in implementation of company-wide compliance activities including, without limitation, conducting and documenting investigative activities.
Provide oversight of implementation and reporting of compliance monitoring and auditing activities and risk assessment identification and mitigation within the assigned Division.
Communicate and provide training and education on policies regarding regulatory compliance to ensure consistency across assigned Division.
Attend leadership meetings within assigned Division.
Participate in regular update meetings with senior leadership within assigned Division.
Collaborate with the Regional Compliance Officers in assigned Divisions to facilitate implementation of compliance training initiatives consistent with Compliance Program objectives.
Develop, train and provide oversight for the Regional Compliance Officers, directors and staff members within assigned Division.
Provide oversight of investigation and response to Compliance Hotline calls related to assigned designated facilities.
Respond to phone and email inquiries and research requests for information on a variety of corporate responsibility issues.
Answer questions from staff and leadership concerning compliance policies, privacy of patient information matters, physician contracting, and other general compliance topics.
Assist in the coordination of external audits for assigned Division related to compliance topics, as necessary.
Provide guidance and support to the Regional Compliance Officers in assigned Divisions to facilitate board of directors compliance updates that are consistent with Compliance Program objectives.
Serve as a member of the AdventHealth Compliance Department Executive team.
Participate in regular meetings with the AdventHealth Compliance Department and corporate offices.
Contribute to company-wide Compliance Program initiatives including strategic planning, education and communication, and guidance and tools.
Collaborate/strategize with the SVP, Chief Compliance Officer on implementation and effectiveness of the AdventHealth Compliance Program as it relates to activities in assigned Division.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Business Administration, Nursing, Law or other healthcare related field.
- Minimum of five years healthcare regulatory or financial experience at a management level.
- Experience in hospital compliance and/or physician practice/medical group compliance, coding and/or operations and/or post-acute compliance, depending on assigned Division.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) required within 1 year if not held at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in in Business Administration, Nursing, Law or other healthcare related field.
- Certified Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified HIPAA Compliance Officer (CHCO) or Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE)
