Description of Work Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? DEQ has an open opportunity for a Compliance Analyst. This position is Exempt from the Human Resources Act (EHRA) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with applicable State Benefits.• This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure DEQ evaluates and audits the compliance of portfolio projects and ensure compliance requirements are met. This position serves as internal support to program staff and contact for external subrecipient and contractor entities in their role as it relates to grant compliance. This position will serve as a lead Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) Compliance Analyst responsible for providing technical oversight and mentorship OCI Compliance Analyst I staff as well as support OCI Leadership in setting priorities and work goals.
