$73.9K – $98.5K a year 18 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Powerpoint Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel 5 years Research Microsoft Office Bachelor’s degree EMR systems Senior level Communication skills Full Job Description Wake Radiology is seeking a Compliance and Privacy Analyst who will be responsible for managing, developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies, procedures, processes, training, and corrective action plans to ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare laws and regulations. This is not a remote position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as the subject matter expert on federal and state healthcare laws, regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute), policies, and procedures related to the protection of private and confidential information. Conduct audits of clinical policies and practices to identify potential compliance issues, provide education on these issues, and develop recommendations for improvement. Investigate privacy incidents and complaints, including performing intake reviews, conducting interviews, preparing detailed incident summaries, and accurately entering case facts and supporting documentation into the incident management system. Review and analyze various access reports to identify questionable activity and conduct further investigations as needed. Communicate compliance issues and findings clearly and concisely through written audit reports and presentations. Compile monthly and annual reports detailing key compliance metrics to support presentations for leadership. Review and organize multiple types of access reports and identify questionable accesses for further investigation Conduct comprehensive audits to identify potential compliance issues and develop recommendations for improvement Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all compliance and privacy-related inquiries and concerns. Continuously monitor and stay up to date on all relevant federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance. Act as a role model for ethical and compliant behavior, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the organization.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
Five (5) years of progressive experience in a healthcare compliance or privacy role is required. An equivalent combination of eight (8) years of related and progressive experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree Desired certifications include Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) or equivalent Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software is required. Demonstrated clear, concise, and effective written communication skills, including the ability to draft professional reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures. Healthcare background with strong research and investigative skills is essential. Proven sound business judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
