SUMMARY:

Oversees compliance and enforcement responsibilities of the Division. Monitors, assures compliance with, investigates, and enforces all criminal and administrative matters that relate to the provision of Emergency Medical Services. Collaborates with legal counsel on Right-to-Know requests and Emergency Medical Service compliance .

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in health or business administration, education, nursing or related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience:

Four years’ professional or paraprofessional experience in in emergency medicine, health administration, nursing, public health or related field, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification:

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information. 2. Selected candidate will be unable to maintain employment by an EMS unit while employed as Compliance Officer. 3. Must be free of any disciplinary action from certification or licensing body. 4. Must obtain certification Advanced Emergency Medical Technician from the National Registry of EMTs or higher medical certification within one year of hire. 5. Must obtain certification as an investigator by a nationally recognized organization approved by the Division within one year of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts fact-finding and investigations based on public information or complaints against EMS Providers, Vehicles and Units and allegations of violations of statutes and/or Administrative Rule. Compiles and reports investigation information to Bureau Chief, Division Director and Department Commissioner. Researches, coordinates and facilitates requests to the Division in relation to RSA 91-A and public information requests. Supervises assigned personnel by reviewing and prioritizing job assignments, conducting performance reviews and implementing corrective action as needed. Researches, recommends, and drafts changes in agency policy, administrative rules and laws, including compliance and enforcement activities. Serves as representative for the Bureau of EMS at Adjudicative Proceedings. Coordinates educational and informational programs on compliance, legal, and other operations topics for a variety of groups, and interfaces with the media, public officials, and the community. Adheres to all state and federal privacy rules relative to protection of personal information, educational records, and system security. Coordinates section functions and operations with Division administration to include providing input for operational planning, developing future initiatives, creating budget requests, and coordinating resource allocation. Responds to emergencies on our campus as part of the Emergency Response Team.
