Job Summary The Global Trade Control AssociateSpecialist will manage and oversee Global Trade compliance andsupport the company’s compliance operations by addressingapplicable export and import control requirements. The role willsupport the various business functions and is responsible forensuring adherence to international trade laws and regulationswhile supporting the company’s business objectives. The role isresponsible for managing trade compliance programs, oversea theexport/ import processes and collaborating with cross functionalteams to mitigate risks and optimize efficiency including but notlimited to defining the global trade requirements, managing anddeveloping global trade compliance training, application andprovision of permits and licensing when applicable. This positionrequires analytical and leadership skills, self-motivation and apositive attitude that will be constantly challenged in a changingand dynamic work environment.   • Manage global tradecompliance requirements and realize efficiencies in Emergent’sglobal supply chain
  • Classify imports and exports under theirrespective regulatory regimes (HTSUS, EAR, ITAR, Schedule B)
  • Workclosely with the Global Logistics team to create and enforce localGlobal Trade Control policies and procedures in conjunction withglobal standards and best practices where applicable.
  • Liaisebetween various supply-chain functions within the enterprise,including all Emergent sites, to provide ongoing support for importand exports requiring Global Trade oversight.
  • Drive and deliverlogistics and global trade control initiatives throughcollaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop implement andmanage global trade compliance programs with US and Internationaltrade regulations, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, OFAC andcustoms laws.
  • Obtain and manage export and import licenses,permits, and registrations under US and international traderegulation.
  • Implement company-wide and business-line specificimport and export trade control processes (e.g., supporting thedevelopment of project specific Technology Control Plans)
  • Responsible for developing and conducting tailored global tradecompliance training
  • Monitor regulatory changes, includingemerging regulations that affect trade compliance and communicateregulatory changes to affected parties
  • Manage Emergent’srestricted party screening process including ensuring all relevantbusiness partners are screened, potential matches are reviewed andescalating restricted parties as necessary.
  • Act as a primarypoint of contact for global trade issues.
  • Develop and conductassessments of our current policies to mitigate risk and initiatechanges to our current program.
  • Drive continues improvementinitiatives to enhance our global trade control processes.
  • Maintain and update trade compliance databases and systems.

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills Required:
  • 3years of experience U.S. export control experience (operational,government, law firm, or consulting)
  • Bachelor’s degree in arelated field
  • Knowledge of U.

S. export regulations including

EARand ITAR Preferred:
  • Knowledge of U.S. import regulations (HTSUSclassification, FTA utilization, Origination analyses, etc.)
  • Knowledge of non-U.S. export or import regulations
  • Advanceddegree / diploma / certificate in a relevant subject
  • Governmentagency or freight forwarding / custom brokerage experience (DDTC,BIS, CBP)
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research, writing, verbal communication, and projectmanagement skills
  • Familiarity with technology tools and systemused to manage global trade requirements
  • Knowledge of board ofpharmacy state licensing requirements U.

S. Base Pay Ranges andBenefits Information The estimated annual base salary as a new hirefor this position ranges from $76,500 to $92,700 . Individual basepay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education,experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity andalignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted basedon applicant’s geographic location. Certain roles are eligible foradditional incentive compensation, including merit increases,annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stockoptions.] (
