Responsibilities include, butare not limited to: ? a. Support state teams in navigating CMScertification and FNS compliance processes, ensuring alignment withthe

MITA/SIRT

framework and federal standards. . ? b. Provideexpert guidance on federal compliance requirements for Medicaid andother program initiatives, with a focus on certification readinessand APD compliance. . ? c. Support the development and review ofcompliance documentation, including APDs, to meet CMS and FNSstandards and ensure consistency with approved funding strategies.. ? d. Collaborate with state teams to implement processes andsystems that align with MITA maturity levels and objectives. . ? e.

Monitor policy changes and provide strategic recommendations toensure ongoing compliance with federal regulations. . ? f. Supportstate communication with CMS and FNS representatives to addresscompliance questions, support review activities, and securerequired approvals, CMS certification, and FNS concurrence inaccordance with the SNAP Go-Live guidance. . ? g. Conduct gapanalyses and identify areas requiring improvement for CMScertification readiness and recommend actionable solutions. . ? h.

Provide training and resources to state staff on federal CMScertification requirements, the MITA framework, the FNS SIRTrequirements, and broader federal compliance expectations ? i.

Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with MITA, CMS,and FNS requirements throughout the project lifecycle. ? j. Supportclose-out activities by documenting compliance milestones, lessonslearned, and areas for future improvement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TheFederal Policy and Certification Compliance Specialist providescritical advisory services to support existing state positions inensuring that all procurement and implementation activities complywith federal standards, including those outlined by CMS and FNS.This role focuses on adherence to CMS Certification processes,Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) framework, andcompliance with FNS expectations as outlined in FNS Handbook 901.In addition to supporting readiness, this role also supports theState’s broader compliance with federal planning and fundingrequirements, including the development and maintenance of AdvancePlanning Documents (APDs) Equal opportunity employer as to allprotected groups, including protected veterans and individuals withdisabilities • While an hourly range is posted for this position,an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salaryanalysis which considers multiple factors including but not limitedto: job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education andexperience as compared to others in the organization doingsubstantially similar work, if applicable, and market and businessconsiderations.
