Office Coordinator – PREA (#010644) Div of Compliance, Standard & Inspection Columbia (RICHLAND) 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Richland County, SC Job Responsibilities Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the SC Department of Corrections efforts to comply with the final standards of the Prison Rape Elimination Act. (PREA) issued by the Department of Justice in 2012. This position assists agency administrators and staff in addressing, identifying, and resolving specialized issues related to the incarceration of all prisoners. Consult with and provide technical assistance to the division of training and staff development for the development of specialized training for staff regarding current and emerging issues with PREA. Consult with and provide technical assistance to the division of investigations regarding allegations of sexual abuse by inmates and the outcome of investigations. Responsible for monitoring all aspects of policy/procedures

Works with internal audits to develop an audit instrument that will measure the success of the initiative and prepare for federal audits under PREA. Monitoring, following, and ensuring all PREA allegations provided by institutional PREA compliance managers are properly processed and documented. Reviewing closed investigation reports to ensure required information is available to aggregate and complete the mandatory survey of sexual victimization. Assisting the PREA Coordinator. and assistant PREA Coordinator with training by preparing documentation, files, and presentations. Administrative duties such as taking and transcribing minutes, schedule meetings, prepare memos needed to ensure consistency. Reviews and responds to inmates, families, and outside entities for the PREA Coordinator’s office with responses provided by the PREA Coordinator or forwards to appropriate personnel or section upon direction. SCDC Minimum Requirements:

OR A high school diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of administrative experience. Preferred two years of relevant program experience.
