We operate 23 fixed plants, two mobile plants, and almost 200 mixers throughout Alabama, serving the Northeast and Montgomery regions through our Kirkpatrick and Hodgson divisions. Our extensive presence and longstanding expertise allow us to meet all of our customers’ ready-mix concrete needs efficiently and reliably. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Credit Manager located in Birmingham, AL. The Credit Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s credit process, including evaluating credit applications, managing credit risk, and ensuring timely collections. Daily tasks include analyzing financial data, setting credit terms, monitoring the creditworthiness of existing accounts, and working closely with the finance team to manage accounts receivable. Essential Job Duties Leads the credit and collections division to achieve operational and cash targets while delivering exceptional customer service. Develops talent and continually builds the team toward success. Reviews aging and monitors DSO goals to meet or exceed targets. Monitors workflow to ensure the timely approval of customer orders. Sets individual and team goals for credit and collections team; supports the credit and collections team to achieve set goals; drives credit and collections team for continuous improvement. Works with sales employees and customers to approve credit terms for any accounts assigned directly. Works with sales and other internal personnel to resolve customer issues affecting order approval and/or payment. Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities Performs reporting related to credit and collections on a weekly and/or monthly basis. Holds weekly departmental meetings with staff. Monitors credit and collections team performance and provides coaching, training and development to improve staff efficiency and results. Roles Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement especially as it relates to credit and collections transactions and information. Support Sales with the timely handling of credit approvals and resolution of credit issues. Collect funds with urgency – meeting Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets. Provides leadership, support and direction to direct reports. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred; Five or more years of experience in accounting and/or finance required; Commercial Credit and Accounts Receivable experience required; Management and Leadership experience required; Proven experience achieving financial targets related to DSO, productivity, write-offs; Demonstrated employee management skills; Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate skills in Excel required; Experience with ERP systems required; Integra experience preferred; Ability to plan, direct and work under deadlines; Ability to recruit, develop and improve individual and team performance; Strong customer service and relationship management skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
