- Trade Finance supports the origination, structuring and execution of trade finance and working capital solutions for corporate clients.
This role ensures the smooth delivery of complex trade finance transactions by coordinating across internal teams, managing client relationships, and maintaining key reporting and profitability metrics. Assists in the maintenance of credit quality, the portfolio administration and monitoring of credit quality for the assigned loan portfolio. Monitors portfolio and individual loan relationship trends, including clear exceptions. Contributes to the quality and credit risk management of the assigned loan portfolio.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Provide transactional support and structuring guidance to Relationship Managers with the creation of proposals and term sheets. Maintains a thorough and clear understanding of the Bank’s credit programs and policy and adheres to same. This includes assisting Relationship Managers collaborating with other bank units such as Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Credit Services, Processing Unit, and Credit Risk to streamline processes and maintain accuracy of reports and credit quality of the portfolio. Reports to supervisor all deviation from credit programs and policy. Conducts thorough credit analysis and completes underwriting functions for new to the Bank opportunities, ensuring that policy, programs and process are followed. Provides support on new business activities by screening preliminary Borrower/Guarantor financial information and working collaboratively with the Relationship Manager to identify and obtain information needed to initial Deal Screen. Work in concert with the Relationship Manager to assist in the documentation preparation of underwriting memos, and/or presentation’s to evaluate a new or modified loan request. Review the RM’s preparation of an Indication of Interest, Terms Sheet or Proposal to ensure it is consistent with Credit’s support for the opportunity. Conduct annual review process of existing credit relationships; ensure recommended Risk Ratings are timely and accurate. This includes calculating covenant testing and risk rating trigger requirements as needed. Identify, track and monitor credit policy exceptions, review credits with loan covenants and verify compliance. Responsible for the administration and monitoring maturities, delinquencies, including criticized assets reports on a regular basis as well as assisting in the identifying any “red flags” or problems within the portfolio. Reports to supervisor all portfolio issues and irregularities found in these reports. Conduct project site visits/inspections and report findings. Work in conjunction with the Relationship Manager to structure and execute Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions for corporate clients. Support Receivables and Payables Finance programs (including ABL, supply chain finance, vendor programs, etc.). When appropriate, act as liaison between clients and internal teams (Operations, Legal, Risk, etc.) to ensure successful deal execution. Contribute to the development and implementation of new trade finance products and services. Conduct market intelligence and independent research on industry sectors. Provide assistance in other areas within the department, as required, covering during vacation or absenteeism. Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to

Certifications Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required. Master’s degree preferred OR 5+ years of commercial & retail portfolio management experience in lieu of education. Formal credit training required.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in lending and/or portfolio management field and/or credit analysis. Knowledgeable of banking products and documentation. Technical and/or
Other Essential Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of the Bank’s credit procedures, programs and policy. Accounting and credit principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required; experience in SQL is a plus. Salesforce, nCino, FIS IBS experience is a plus. Sound time management and organizational skills required. Well organized and systematic. Must possess strong communication skills.
