We are a trusted provider in the building supply industry, delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Credit Manager to join our finance team at our Jacksonville, FL office.
Position Summary:
The Credit Manager is responsible for managing the company’s credit and collections process, assessing credit risk, setting credit limits, and working closely with customers to ensure timely payments. This position does not include direct reports but plays a key role in safeguarding company revenue and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness by reviewing financial information, trade references, and payment history Establish and monitor customer credit limits and terms in accordance with company policies Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past due accounts Partner with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing and payment issues Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records Negotiate payment plans and coordinate collection efforts when necessary Assist with month-end close processes and reporting on AR status and bad debt reserves Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce credit risk and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and relevant legal regulations
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in credit management or related accounts receivable roles Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of credit and collections processes Excellent communication and negotiation abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritize tasks effectively Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required Experience in the building supply or construction industry is a plus
