Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established and prominent company in the construction sector, is seeking a Credit & Collections Manager to oversee all aspects of credit risk assessment, accounts receivable collections, and internal credit policy development. Key Responsibilities:
Credit & Risk Management Conduct thorough credit evaluations of new and existing customers using commercial credit reports and trade references Set appropriate customer credit terms and limits; manage Cash-In-Advance accounts Maintain customer master records and manage credit holds in the ERP system Evaluate accounts for potential collections activity and coordinate with outside agencies as needed Maintain and monitor bad debt reserves and AR collectability metrics Collections & AR Oversight Manage the full collections process, including account aging review, daily outreach, and customer follow-up Prepare and distribute customer statements; maintain detailed communications records Drive reduction in past-due balances and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) Administer the lien process (NTOs, lien filings/releases, and internal tracking) Provide backup for the cash application process Leadership & Reporting Generate AR reports and KPIs for internal leadership Establish and enforce internal controls and credit policies in collaboration with the Controller Assist in financial forecasting and the annual budget process Manage and mentor direct reports; lead annual goal-setting and performance reviews Support cross-functional initiatives and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) 5+ years of Credit & Collections experience, including leadership or management responsibilities Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills Advanced Excel skills (required) Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (preferred) ERP system implementation or upgrade experience (a plus) Familiarity with lien law processes (a plus) All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
