Position Summary The Credit Analyst will be responsible for credit underwriting, credit analytics, and portfolio monitoring. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct in-depth financial analysis of loan applications for commercial, consumer, and real estate loans. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant information to assess borrower creditworthiness and risk. Develop and maintain strong relationships with loan officers, gathering necessary information and providing ongoing support throughout the loan process. Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda that clearly articulate the financial strength and risk profile of each loan applicant. Recommend loan approval or denial based on sound credit analysis and risk assessment. Work collaboratively with credit committee members to present loan proposals and address any questions or concerns. Stay current on evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and lending guidelines. Participate in the development and implementation of new credit policies and procedures. Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify potential credit risks. Assist with loan portfolio analysis and reporting. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university and one (1) to five (5) or more years of related bank-related consumer compliance experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. PC proficient, including MS Word and MS Excel. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret laws and regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Spanish is a plus. Reasoning Ability Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities; Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
