Full Job Description Overview:
The Credit Trainee will undergo through a structured credit training program that will consist of performing credit risk analysis, a review of other elements of general business risk, corporate finance, cash flow analysis, underwriting, financial modeling, valuation, and exposure to available banking products.
Responsibilities:
The Credit Trainee will apply their skills and knowledge to Ocean Bank Credit projects. Will learn to analyze loan applications to determine applicant’s qualifications and draft a credit approval memorandum if warranted. Will learn to calculate global cash flow, financial leverage, liquidity, profitability, debt coverage ratios, and loan to value ratios. Will gain an in-depth understanding of portfolio management and end-to-end underwriting of credit transactions with a primary focus on Commercial CRE business lines and C&I. The Credit Trainee will also develop problem solving and analytical skills, communication and presentation skills, networking skills, and overall general business skills. This position reviews and evaluates loan packages to determine risk, repayment capacity and feasibility of loans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, specifically in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Must have an understanding of general accounting and finance principles. Must demonstrate excellent financial and quantitative skills. Must be capable of communicating effectively and have strong presentation skills. Must possess excellent project and time management skills; possess excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficient in MS Software, (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook). Ability to analyze data, work with spreadsheets, calculate formulas, create pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, and run macros highly preferred.
