Position Overview:

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to step into a critical role within our Credit Department. The Underwriter Team Manager role requires both technical underwriting expertise and a passion for team development. This role focuses on coaching and developing underwriting staff, managing production metrics, overseeing loan file quality, and collaborating cross-functionally to support operational goals. This is a full-time employment opportunity working in our Boca Raton, FL or out of our Charlotte, NC offices.

Requirements Qualifications:

The following qualifications and responsibilities serve as a position overview and are not exhaustive. Employees are expected to be team players and may take on additional tasks as needed. Bachelor’s degree required; preferred majors include Finance, Business or Economics AT least 5 years of experience in underwriting or credit analysis, including 2+ years in a management/leadership role Strong knowledge of business purpose lending and risk evaluation Skilled in Microsoft Office and loan/underwriting management systems Highly detail oriented and able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting Excellent communication and collaboration skills; effective at aligning teams on goals, credit decisions, and performance targets. Analytical and critical thinking mindset; comfortable challenging processes to support ongoing improvement

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management Coach and manage underwriters to meet production goals and quality standards; address performance issues in collaboration with senior leadership. Conduct individual reviews and support professional development goals. Lead daily team huddles to align priorities and oversee hiring and onboarding of new team members. Operational Oversight & Quality Assurance Oversee underwriting decisions and service delivery to internal teams. Perform regular file audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Reporting & Strategic Insights Provide senior leadership with weekly reports on volume, SLA performance, credit quality, and team metrics. Contribute to market analysis by participating in competitor intelligence initiatives. Training, Enablement & Process Improvement Develop onboarding, continuing education, and cross-functional training in partnership with Training & Development. Participate in, and provide feedback during the recruiting, interviewing and onboarding process. Drive operational enhancements by collaborating on workflow innovation and efficiency improvements.
