Banking Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Commercial Credit & Administration Manager leads the Credit Underwriting, Closing, and Portfolio Management teams in support of Achieva’s Commercial Lending operations. This position provides credit policy and product expertise while driving strategic loan structuring, risk mitigation, and portfolio growth. The Manager ensures high-quality underwriting, effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and alignment with lending policy and procedures. The role also focuses on employee development, process improvement, and overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management Oversees Credit Underwriting, Closing, and Portfolio Management teams to ensure high performance, productivity, and regulatory compliance. Partners with the VP of Commercial Services, Senior Leadership, and the Commercial Loan Committee (CLC) to align credit strategy with business goals. Coaches and develops talent, focusing on team growth, succession planning, and inclusive workplace culture. Ensures performance expectations, training, and development plans are met across the team. Credit Administration & Risk Oversight Manages execution of credit solutions to optimize risk and return, ensuring asset quality and adherence to credit policy. Reviews and prepares credit presentations ranging from $250K to $40MM; participates in underwriting and loan structuring as needed. Ensures loan documentation is complete and policy exceptions are appropriately addressed. Challenges risk controls, governance practices, and ensures timely identification and remediation of risk. Cross-Functional Collaboration Consults with Commercial Relationship Managers and leadership to deliver integrated solutions and superior member experience. Serves as an enterprise advocate, contributing to broader strategy and connecting team efforts to organizational goals. Participates in or leads enterprise projects and initiatives to drive efficiency, profitability, and innovation.

Education and Experience Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. 12+ years of commercial banking and credit experience. 3+ years managing credit, portfolio, and closing teams.
