Are you a finance enthusiast with a keen eye for detail and a passion for commercial lending? We’re looking for a dedicated Portfolio Specialist II to provide top-notch credit and sales support to our commercial banking Relationship Managers. If you have a strong background in finance, excellent communication skills, and a knack for managing loan portfolios, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
Credit and Sales Support:
Collaborate with Relationship Managers to manage all aspects of the local loan portfolio, including annual reviews, past dues, borrowing base monitoring, covenant compliance, CARs, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio management activities.
Actively participate in the loan process, including joint calling, underwriting, and preparation of credit approval packages.
Coordinate with Credit Analysts to prepare LARs, credit memos, financial spreads, and related documents.
Serve as a secondary contact on client relationships and identify cross-sell opportunities with new and existing clients.
Prepare commitment letters and review loan documents.
Assist lenders in their prospecting efforts.
Financial Analysis:
Spread, analyze, and interpret complex business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
Analyze relationships, clients, and prospects globally, not just on individual requests.
Identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and make recommendations to address and mitigate perceived risks.
Prepare and present credit analysis packages through the credit approval chain with limited supervision.
Required for
Success:
Bachelor’s degree with coursework in finance and accounting preferred.
3-5 years of work experience related to various aspects of commercial lending, including underwriting, analyzing financial statements, and tax returns.
Extensive knowledge of various commercial loan structures and the ability to apply this knowledge in the formulation of sound credit recommendations
Proficient knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation issues.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to develop and maintain cohesive, cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Strong personal organization and time management skills.
Ability to understand and work effectively within the credit culture of the company.
Ability to allocate time effectively and independently prioritize workload to meet timelines.
Proficiency with in-house financial reporting applications, including Navigator.
