Job Description Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Associate on the Alternative Credit (“Alt Credit”) investment team in the Atlanta office, focused on Asset Management with a primary responsibility to support the team’s ongoing residential credit investment strategy.] The position will be responsible for monitoring and on-going surveillance of Alternative Credit residential credit investments, developing and running complex discounted cash flow models, monitoring and reporting on various portfolio-level metrics, providing assistance to deal teams with assigned investments and general asset management including settlements, data management, valuation and reporting. The nature of the team’s investment process and dynamic environment necessitates that a candidate have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, a professional demeanor, along with sharp analytical skills relevant to structured investments. Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities Monitor portfolio of residential credit investments Provide support to rest of the residential deal team and oversee operating document negotiation and adherence with legal and counterparties General asset management including confirming fundings, coordinating monthly settlements, valuations, and other asset-level reporting Frequent communication with financing providers, transaction counterparties and third party vendors Develop and run complex models for valuation and reporting purposes Perform mark-to-market valuations Analyzing asset-level trends and metrics Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required or international equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field Strong intellect with solid communication, quantitative, financial and analytical skills 2+ year of finance or accounting experience with exposure to residential structured finance/securitization, direct experience with real estate related loan workouts preferred General Requirements Advanced MS Excel modeling skills , proficiency in MS PowerPoint and experience with Intex and database management Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment Experience with real estate credit transaction documents Exceptional interpersonal skills Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness Reporting Relationships Managing Director, Alternative Credit Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role. $120,000.00 – $145,000.00 The firm also offers robust Benefits offerings.
