Purpose:

Summary:
Under direct supervision provides analytical and credit support to the Business Lending department, in accordance with policy and procedures. Assists with the analysis and evaluation of prospective and current borrowers to maintain a sound loan portfolio.
Pay information:

Spread and analyze financial statements, including cash flows, performance ratios, and proformas to develop initial assessments by identifying strengths and weaknesses pertaining to a borrower’s past and future performance. Work with Loan Officers in preparing in-depth written analyses on loan relationships for presentation in the approval process.
This includes:
credit investigation of borrowers and guarantors; economic and market conditions as they relate to the company, industry, and market area; historical financial analysis, and analysis of a guarantor’s financial position and cash flow coverage. Coordinate completion and reviews of MBL loan requests of loan relationship/request size up to $500K, including commercial vehicles, equipment, and real estate. Make recommendation for final approval or denial of loan request to Management. Collect and maintain industry data; research industry specific information from outside sources, including conversations with the borrowers, industry publications, credit agencies, etc. Present compiled data and recommends enhancements. Assist in establishing and maintaining credit files for each relationship. Ensure that member’s credit information such as loan documentation, financial statements, tax information, insurance binders, credit history from trade references, and correspondence are incorporated in the credit file, are current, and are obtained in a timely manner. Notify management of any violations, and requests follow-up to resolve or waive. Prepare and send out notification letters to members requesting updated credit information and financial statements, as necessary. Support in the annual loan review of existing business relationships to monitor compliance with loan conditions and policy, ensuring that all loan covenants are in compliance. Evaluate loans for changes in risk on an ongoing basis, and make recommendations on risk rating changes in a timely manner. Provide support to Senior Credit Analysts and management in the development and implementation of special reports and/or special projects to maintain a sound and solid loan origination process and portfolio. Assist in performing collateral analysis as needed: appraisals, environmental reviews, flood certs. Adhere to NCUA regulations relating to Member Business Lending. Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position. Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or comparable experience with a preference to Finance or Accounting majors. A minimum one year of commercial credit analysis experience or related experience in a financial institution. Commercial loan documentation experience preferred. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to interact positively with management, coworkers, and members to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure. Well organized, and able to process detailed information with accuracy and efficiency, and the ability to work independently, meeting deadlines. Comprehensive knowledge regarding application of State and NCUA guidelines pertaining to business accounts and member business loans preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and proficiency in Excel. Excellent attendance/punctuality.
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, typewriter, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of twenty to fifty pounds.
