POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Credit Department, providing oversight to a team of credit professionals evaluating the risk in the Bank’s middle-marketmercial loan portfolio. Effectively manage the process to maintain and improve the current performance level, maintain openmunication between the Credit and Commercial Lending teams, and ensure team achieves desired turnaround times and achieves quality standards leveraging technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the quality and integrity of financial analysis, underwriting, and risk ratings in accordance with the Bank’s Loan Policy and regulatory requirements. Manage the loan approval process and ensure credit analyses are:
Complete and identify relevant risks; and
Provide appropriate information to make lending decisions; and
Identify early risk indicators and/or structural issues to prevent or reduce loan losses.
Maintain appropriate underwriting guidelines and credit quality standards to mitigate risk.
Make rmendations to ensure soundness of credit decisions, including but not limited to, loan structure, terms and conditions for approval.
Work collaboratively with Commercial Team Leaders in the Commercial Lending Department to provide input to balanced loan structures and ensure timelypletion of credit requests.
Ensure adequate tracking and reporting of thepletion of annual line of credit renewals and annual relationship reviews.
Coordinate and oversee of the risk rating change process.
Train and develop staff including oversight of the credit training program. Identify and coordinate appropriate outside training resources (RMA, MassBankers, CFT, etc.) and develop and implement internal training materials. Monitor staff progress.
Coordinate with external auditors and loan reviewers, including but not limited to, scheduling, request list items, exception resolution and reporting to internal parties such as senior management and the Audit Committee.
Identify and track exceptions to Loan Policy utilizing technology.
Establish and monitor Department productivity goals.
Provide insight in to and rmendations for the Bank’s Loan Policy working directly with the FVP, Credit Administration.
Responsible for maintenance of digitizing and imaging credit files.
Mustplete BSA, AML, and other Regulatory and Continuing Education as assigned.
Must ad to all bank and regulatory policies and procedures specific to position.
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Education/Experience/Skills & Abilities
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or relevant work experience.
Minimum of seven years’ experience in amercial underwriting, lending, loan review or similar role with experience in CRE, C&I, construction/development lending and/or risk management. Strong underwriting and risk management skills with demonstrated ability to identify, measure and mitigate risk.
Solid understanding of credit / loan structuring in amercial banking environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Strong personalanization skills.
Excellent written and verbalmunication skills and ability to provide good judgement on when resolve and when to escalate issues
Strong transactional and strategic critical thinking skills.
Ability to make decisions and operate with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Kledge of loan and collateral legal documentation.
